Story - The Phone Call: Part 2

 .. Peter put his hand on the light switch and he felt another bony scaly hand there.

Out of shock Peter flicked the light switch to ON. He took in the room. It looked untouched. It looked just the way his parents had left it. Peter thought he was going crazy, which he probably was.

He went into the room and searched, there wasn’t a soul in there. Just as he finished searching the bathroom, he heard a loud crash and that same shrill giggle downstairs.

Slowly Peter made his way to the lower level, his mind gradually driving him crazy. He went down the staircase into the hall and said, “Hello? Is anyone in here? If there is, please leave immediately.”

He was responded with the same giggle. He went into the hall and the light turned off, he felt the same hand on his neck, the creature’s sharp talons digging into his skin. Then he fainted.

“Peter Smith was abducted by a mystery kidnapper on Sunday in the late afternoon, his parents had left the town for a day and when they came back they saw that Peter was missing. The strange thing is that there were no signs of struggle. If anybody sees him, please call the number below.” The T.V. reporter said on the screen.

The mystery creature turned to Peter who sat thrashing in his chair, “Can you believe it, they’re still looking for you!”

Peter sat there with the gag in his mouth, hoping for a miracle. Just then, they heard loud gunshots outside. Peter was very startled as they were in the middle of nowhere. He thanked God for listening to his prayers and hoped for the best. The creature, upon hearing the noises, debated about taking Peter along with him. It seemed that he somehow decided against it and disappeared into thin air. 

Two Police Officers busted down the door, and saw poor Peter sitting in the chair. They were shocked to see a little boy sitting there, looking extremely dehydrated and tired.

The officers had come there because they were investigating another similar missing persons cases and had found out that in one of the other victim’s house, there was a leaf of a Pine tree which seemed out of place as there were no pine trees in the vicinity. So, they went to the nearest place where there were Pine trees and had seen a cabin in the woods. That day they decided to look into the cabin and had found Peter there.

Peter was returned home safely. He tried to tell his tale to everyone, but nobody would believe him. They all though that because of dehydration and other factors Peter was seeing things. But Peter knew what he had seen, and he would never be the same.
